We sat down with Anna Yu of MaskAddict to talk to her about her love for sheetmasks. Looking at her Instagram posts, you can quickly tell that she probably has tried hundreds of sheetmasks.! We couldn't wait to talk to her about her skincare routine and how she got into sheetmasking in the first place.
So, you just celebrated your 1-year anniversary on Instagram as @maskaddict recently. Congratulations! Tell us what you love about sheet masks and how you started using them as part of your skincare routine.
A friend introduced me to sheet masks the first time I went to a Korean spa and fell in love with them immediately. Ever since then, I’ve been using sheet masks 3-5 times a week! I love using sheet masks as a way to relax after a long day. They’re a low commitment product so you can really experiment with different brands and product claims.
What are some of your all-time favorite sheet masks?
My favorite sheet masks include the Papa Recipe Bombee Honey Sheetmask for moisture and smells just like honey. I’ve been obsessed with clay sheet mask hybrids lately. The April Skin Mummy Mud SheetMask gives me all the benefits of a clay mask but without any of the mess. I also haven’t used a Leaders mask I haven’t liked!
and of course, we can't forget to ask you about your daily skincare routine!
I like to keep it pretty simple! I have combination skin leaning towards dry so I've been focusing on adding light layers of hydration with toners and serums/essences. I love to experiment so you'll see me using a mixture of Asian, Western and sometimes indie brands in my routine.

Are there any fun stories you can share with us while you were sheetmasking?
I had a sheet mask on for less than 5 minutes when I friend texted me saying she was at the ice cream shop at the ground floor of my building. I wanted to see her so I went out in public with a sheet mask on! Luckily, the sheet mask was very thin and transparent so it wasn’t super obvious. I’ve also sheetmasked on the plane before and my husband says I get funny looks when people walk by but I’m fast asleep so I don’t care!
